It’s not often I get to spend time in the beautiful surroundings of Liverpool’s Tate gallery, but today I had the perfect excuse – Manchester’s Creative Tourist organised Blog North #2, a day of workshops and networking for bloggers located in the north.
People came from all around – Merseyside (of course), Manchester, Lancashire, Yorkshire – to hear words of wisdom from representatives from Creative Tourist, The Next Web, The Culture Vulture, and Liverpool’s very own The Double Negative.
In addition, we had some lovely sandwiches and cake (very important) plus were offered the opportunity to browse Tate Liverpool’s Turner, Monet, Twombly exhibition which believe me is bloody marvellous.
The workshops and exhibition were very enjoyable indeed, but as with most conferences and conventions it’s the chatting with people over coffee (and in this case, by a Monet water lily masterpiece or three) that makes the whole day worth it. Having a blog either as part of your job or as a hobby is such a great thing and to meet others doing the same thing is so useful.
I had a laugh with some top people, and swapped tips about blogging and using Twitter. My idea of a fun Saturday.
Blog North #3 is in Manchester on 13th October, part of the Manchester Weekender and I’ll be there!
